Instructions for use: Just spread about 2 tablespoons of cold-press castor oil (not included) on the flannel side of the castor oil pack. Lay it, oil-side down, on the area of your body you are trying to address. Add a heat pad if desired. Allow the castor oil pack to remain in place for at least 30-60 minutes. DO NOT USE WHILE PREGNANT!
Castor oil is an amazing natural gift from God. It creates “flow” throughout your body, wherever it is applied. Castor oil crosses the skin barrier. In fact, it is so effective that pharmaceutical companies frequently use castor oil as the vehicle to carry medications in transdermal applications!
What does castor oil do? I’m not a doctor, but here are just a few of the benefits I’ve learned:
If you place a castor oil pack over your belly, it can create a gentle laxative effect in your bowel, relieving constipation or moving a sluggish bowel.
Sluggish lymph is so bad for you! And your primary concentration of lymph is in your gut - your second brain. So applying a castor oil pack over your gut will increase lymph flow, aiding in detox, and stimulating immune response to help fight virus, bacteria, and fungi.
A castor oil pack placed over your liver can help stimulate your liver (the organ primarily responsible for ridding your body of toxins and waste products) to eliminate toxins more effectively.
A castor oil pack placed over your gall bladder and liver can help with synthesis of bile from cholesterol.
Castor oil packs placed anywhere can aid in reducing inflammation as it increases flow in that area.
A castor oil pack placed over your uterus during your menstrual cycle can reduce cramps. It can support your reproductive system as well.
A castor oil pack placed over your uterus after giving birth can stimulate gentle uterine contractions, reducing risk of postpartum hemorrhage. (DO NOT USE WHILE PREGNANT as it can stimulate uterine contractions!)
Because of the increase ‘flow’ in your body, castor oil packs can aid in stabilizing hormonal mood swings. It can also increase a sense of calm and aid sleep.
To be honest, studies have mixed reviews on the true efficacy of castor oil; however, it is telling that castor oil IS used by pharmaceutical companies for transdermal medications. That’s food for thought!
